Founded in Johannesburg in 2019 by Akali Faith, Potrends is a modern menswear brand rooted in African artistry and elevated craftsmanship. Each collection tells a story — drawn from everyday life, Pan-African culture, and the beauty found in unexpected places.

Every piece begins as art. Hand-drawn illustrations by the Creative Director, together with collaborations from local artists, are transformed into exclusive textiles that merge creativity with refined tailoring.

Potrends stands at the intersection of heritage and contemporary design — blending artistic expression, cultural storytelling, and luxurious detail to create clothing that feels personal, timeless, and distinctly African.

Other materials we use are ethically sourced from trusted local suppliers, supporting community craftsmanship and reducing our environmental footprint.

Each piece is produced in small batches, often made to order, in collaboration with local artisans. This approach minimizes waste, empowers local makers, and ensures that every garment receives the care and attention it deserves.
